If your everyday practice is to open to all your emotions, to all the people you meet, to all the situations you encounter, without closing down, trusting that you can do that — then that will take you as far as you can go. And then you’ll understand all the teachings that anyone has ever taught.

Ways of Helping Others
For some people, helping others on a regular basis just comes naturally in the course of living their lives. It just happens. But other people who seek to serve humanity find that connecting with established agencies like the United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, The Lions Club or YMCA works best for them. Established service organizations that are in affiliation with faith communities such as Catholic Charities, American Friends Service Committee or Pencils of Promise feels the most natural way to go for still other folks. The point is to just find a way to give and share whatever we can, with the unintended byproduct being that Helping Others is good for the heart and soul also!
